PRIMARY/CONTEMPORARY ACCOUNTS OF KING DAVID AND HIS DYNASTY WERE ALSO RECORDED. THESE SERVE TO CORROBORATE THE HISTORICITY OF KING DAVID, THE WORK OF GOD IN THE LIFE OF THE KING
1.) The Books of First and Second Samuel were written by contemporaries of King David for their own contemporaries originally.
1 Chronicles 29:29 - Prophets Samuel, Nathan and Gad were contemporaries of King David and each involved in the production of the book and serve to witness in corroboration of one another
2) The Books of the Kings of Israel (1 Chronicles 9:1, 2 Chronicles 16:11, 20:34) are historical records written by contemporaries of each generation of the kings of the Davidic dynasty
3) The Commentaries (annals) of the Books of the Kings provide primary and secondary source info on the historicity of King David and the Davidic dynasty (2 Chronicles 24:27)
4) Chronicles of the Kings of Judah also record historical literary works on the Davidic Kingdom (2 Chronicles 14:18)
5) Written instructions made by King David and King Solomon themselves which are primary historical literature ( 2 Chronicles 35:4)
